Disappointed! We checked in late Friday evening to our booked King Suite for 3 nights, on entering our room we were met with a strong chemical smell, it smelt like it was covering a different ‘bad’ smell. There was also faeces marks on the wall in the bathroom, stained carpets and liquid marks splashed along the wall beside the bed. We contacted reception and the kind gentleman was trying to be helpful and advised to turn the air conditioning on to try and air the room out. At this time we were told to relocate we would have to downgrade rooms as there was no more suites left, as it was 11pm we decided to sleep in the king suite and make a decision the next morning the gentleman was kind enough to add us to the breakfast list for the following morning. We woke to the same strong smell and feeling uneasy we decided we needed to move rooms. We had to wait for another room to be prepared so we went out to enjoy our morning, when we returned to the hotel and checked into the new room we asked about additional breakfasts as compensation for having to be downgraded however the receptionist at that time told us we were only given that morning as the compensation and won’t be on the list for the following two mornings. We were very disappointed as we felt we weren’t adequately compensated for having to downgrade due to the suite being in poor condition. On our final night we were met with excessive noise coming from outside the building from approximately 9pm- 4am. Vacuum truck, jackhammering, excavator banging and concrete cutting. I am very disappointed the hotel didn’t warn guests as I would have purchased ear plug and been prepared. Now feeling tired and let down I was very happy to check out Monday morning. As a 4-5 star hotel we believe the standard should have been much better and would not recommend staying with Peppers Docklands.

While we were able to provide breakfast as a gesture of goodwill, we apologise that it did not feel like adequate compensation for the inconvenience. Regarding the noise disturbance on your final night, we apologise for not informing you in advance. The construction was part of the Public Transport Victoria work, which we were not informed of. We understand how disruptive this was and will work on improving our communication to better prepare our guests for such events. Our Guest Relations Manager has reached out to you via email to further address your concerns and ensure a resolution. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will use it to improve our services and guest experience. Just an Okay Stay

1) Construction noise in the day time 2) the shower had issues with the hot/cold water, couldn't have the right temp it was either too cold or too hot. 3) The alarm clock kept buzzing at 6 am in the morning and somehow I couldnt reset it

Convenient and Comfortable

Great location, walking distance to bars and restaurants. Close to the airport less than 30 min drive. Room was comfortable, nice bathroom, very friendly staff, lovely breaky buffet. No dining, however, not necessary as plenty of places to go close by or get delivery. Only critiques would be on very busy main road including busy bike lane, not ideal place for cab/uber to stop to let you out; coffee could have been stronger/hotter. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Great for business or family

I normally stay in the heart of the city but Peppers had a good deal. Yes it is a little out on the outskirts, but worth it. Especially for business or family. Reception staff are devine! So friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and comfortable one of the biggest rooms I have stayed in. Great shower quick is always welcomed after a long day. Basic buffet breakfast which if you pay the day before you can save $8. Pool and gym are shared with the residential block. I didn't use on a short stay. Tram 70 and 75 are very close and runs from hotel right down to MCG along Flinders....very handy. 20min walk into city centre. My only negative would be the carpet in hallways outside of rooms needs replacing but this is minor. And water in the rooms would be great, but once again minor. Coffee machine with pods in room, plenty of room to work of you are on business, chaise lounge chair for a bit or relaxing. There is construction next door, but if you are for work, then it shouldn't distract you. Work started about 6 wick didn't worry me. Overall great place and would stay again!

Firstly, I want to say the staff were lovely. As was the buffet breakfast and the location was handy to get around the city. The hotel had the Easter bunny arrive on Easter Sunday and had a hunt and some activities in the lobby for the kids which was a nice touch. However, the hotel pictures of the rooms are misleading and the facilities are not located in the hotel. The rooms are very dark as the hotel is overshadowed by the building under construction next door. The rooms have a balcony but it is small and can just fit two chairs and a table. It also has the aircon unit on it so if the aircon is running it blows hot air at you while you sit outside. The hotel is also only 5 floors high so there were no views, which was disappointing and I was only informed of the day before our arrival. The parking is first in first served and can’t cater the entire hotel so we needed to park in a Wilson’s park located near by. Not ideal when checking in with a two and six year old. We were also not informed of this till the day before. The website just states that they have a self park car park or valet parking. There was also no clearly marked spot to park out the front to make check in or check out easy. The hotel is part of a complex that has a private apartment building attached, which is where the pool and gym is located. You need to go out of the hotel to locate it and need to obtain a new swipe card before leaving to access it. Also not ideal with little kids.
